Have a Seat.

Have a Seat.

Hi! If you've followed me over from Instagram, thank you! It means a lot. Life without socials has been great but I miss all of you! I hope this is a way for us to stay connected in what becomes darker times by the day.

If you've found your way here some other way - thanks for being here. TL;DR I dropped social media cold turkey recently. 10/10.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the small joys that keep us going. Zooming in. Noticing what is magical about the every day. I lost those moments for a few weeks there and I’ll admit they are harder to see through the haze of the political system but I'm working on seeing the magic again. Times are dark but they can't take joy from us. So I plan to keep showing up every day and using joy as an act of resistance.

Some things outside of art that have brought me joy recently are phone calls (remember those?!) with friends, earl grey tea with cream, my dear friend's sourdough, seed starting, and kitchen table talks.

I grew up watching the women in my family holding mugs of something hot and caffeinated around the kitchen table. Catching up. Sharing secrets, dreams, insecurities. Talking shit.

I’ll be sharing in this space as if you are sitting across from me at my kitchen table. Welcome. Can I offer you something hot and caffeinated? How are you doing? But no, really.

Looking forward to more kitchen table talks.

xx Steph
