Sunday Dinners

Sunday Dinners

Welcome to another Kitchen Table Talks.

I’ve been meaning to write something here sooner but I’ve been at a loss for how to communicate my feelings right now. I’ve been struggling to find that joy that I talked about in my last update. The news feels heavier every day, but I don’t have to tell you that.

The only thing keeping me chugging along right now is painting. If you’re new here, I am a full-time student at my local community college. I’m studying fine arts. It’s a gift to have the time and support to do this and it’s a lot of time and dedication.

I’m taking an acrylic and oil painting class this semester and it is giving me life. I look forward to it every week. I can feel myself growing and stretching into this new skill. I see my work evolving, becoming looser and more “painterly”. I think maybe this is what I’m meant to do right now.

Take my meds, cry, phone a friend, paint, organize*, cry, seed start, paint, cry, phone a friend, rinse and repeat.

*activists - not my Tupperware.
